There is something incredibly happy and romantic about fall.

They are beautiful, cozy, completely amazing, and completely out of my price range.

love, the second time around

I road on the subway today for three extra stops simply to continue reading. I am in love for the second time.

Eat, Pray, Love saved me this summer. I was an overturned turtle; flailing my arms, trying to grasp at life with every fiber of my being and loosing hope with every failing swing. I had been knocked over, then my dearest friend Katie lent me this book. Together, Katie and Elizabeth Gilbert pulled me out of my pain.

There is something perfect about learning how to love and know thy self on a crowded subway, that makes it all the more loving and peaceful. With every page I turn, my smile grows and with it my spirits. The love in this book is infectious, and its my favorite disease.

could not have said it better myself

a new addition to the family

I have been on the hunt for the perfect two dresses for nearly two months now. I have my cousin's Bat-Mitzvah to attend in October, and according to my mom, I need to get a nicer dress for both the service and party. I have been on a huge vintage kick though and along my travels, stumbled into this little gem, Shabby Apple. These adorable designs have that perfect vintage, girly feel. They just might be necessary.

Taken from the Shabby Apple website,
"Shabby Apple was founded by two lovely ladies who, after years of not being able to find stylish dresses that covered enough skin to make you really feel comfortable, decided to do something about it. Shabby Apple's mission is to design and provide affordable, fashionable, hip dresses for women, little girls & mothers-to-be... without having to compromise anything else."

yet another perfectly perfect day

Today was yet another perfectly perfect day. I don't know what it was, but something was in the air this weekend. Another beautiful day was spent on the pier at 72nd St. for a good ol' labor day kayaking party. The air was filled with children's giggles and Beatles tunes. "Get your butt wet and eat" was the theme of the day. Sadly by the time my friends and I were through racing ( a double kayak against lonely little me, you can guess who won), there was nothing but crumbs left. We set aside our grumbling stomachs and dashed off to Brooklyn for the West Indian Carnival where Caribbean/Mardi Gras style costumes colored the streets rainbow. Screams of enjoyment filled the air as people danced and laughed along the streets. The most delicious aromas haunted us with every step. For a bunch of New Yorkers, we failed miserably and didn't have any cash. After a few hours of dancing and laughing, our stomachs finally got the best of us and we had to make our way back for dinner. Minus our growling bellies, it was all just quiet perfect.

perk me up

I am absolutely smitten with this little shop. It is full of wonderful, antiqueshly happy things. If I had a few bucks to spare, I would happily buy out the store and give my place that perfectly quirky me look. The tableware would be the first to go.

a wonderfully perfectly perfect day

Yesterday I went free kayaking on the hudson, and I honestly do not know if I have had that much fun in ages. It was relaxing, it was fun, it was adventurous, and all ended perfectly with a milkshake :)

this is to you

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there." -Bob Marley

well hello there september

September is going to be a good month.
I brought it in yesterday with a picnic in Central Park with one of my dearest friends, Jessica, who just recently got engaged. We sat up on our  hill over looking the little boat pond whilst joking about blow-up-doll dates, first dances to Frankie Valli's "I Love You Baby," and how she wants to walk down the aisle to Edward Cullen. The greatest thing about Jessica is her overwhelming positive spirit. We can laugh for hours no matter what the circumstance. What happened next, is every girls dream come true. I shopped without having to pay for anything. Thats right, wedding registry. It might be the most fun game ever invented, and the most addicting. We quickly realized how carried away we had gotten when we started registering her for pine-cone and pumpkin candles. They are festive! no?

While today may have been one without the park, and all the giggling of yesterday; it was perfect. I think I am still flying on my high from yesterday, and if so, I never want it to end. And as I sit here writing this, the air filling with the sounds of Mama Cass Elliot, I know. I know that no matter what happened this time last year, and what ever is headed my way, I can handle, because I have this moment to look back on. Maybe this seems silly, but happiness from nothing is the best kind of happiness there is. I will try to send some your way.
